What we collect

Account: your email address, nickname, password (stored only as a one-way hash) and profile introduction.

If you sign in with Google or FunPik: the account ID and verified email address that service gives us.

What you share: posts, comments, images, likes, saved posts and reports.

Notifications: if you turn on push notifications, the browser subscription needed to deliver them.

Visit counts: the date, the page address and the site you came from (host name only). We use no cookies, IP addresses or visitor IDs for this.

Why we use it

To run your account, show what you post, send the notifications and emails you asked for (sign-up, password reset), keep the community safe, and give levels and benefits.

Advertising and cookies

We show ads through Google AdSense. Google and its partners may use cookies to show ads based on your visits to this and other websites.

You can turn off personalised ads in Google Ads Settings (adssettings.google.com). Visitors in the EEA, the UK and Switzerland are asked for consent before personalised ads are used.

KATE itself sets one cookie to keep you signed in and one to remember your language.

Who else handles it

Google Cloud (Seoul region) hosts the service and its database. Amazon Web Services sends our emails. Google translates a post or comment only when you ask for a translation.

If you link your FunPik account, FunPik receives the fact that you wrote a post or comment, liked or read a post — never the text — so it can complete your missions.

How long we keep it

We keep your data while your account exists. When you close your account we delete your email, sign-in details, notifications and saved posts; your posts and comments stay under the name "Deleted member". Records the law requires are kept only for the required period.

Your choices

You can edit your profile, change notification settings and close your account from My page. For anything else, contact us.
