Most people find out about the pension refund after they have already flown home. These are the official desks for the things you have to settle before you go. Links only.
The pension refund people miss
If you paid into the national pension, you may be able to claim a lump sum when you leave Korea for good. It depends on your nationality — some are covered by a social security agreement, some are not, and a few get nothing.

When the last paycheck does not arrive
Unpaid final wages and severance are the most common last-month problem, and the cheapest time to deal with them is while you are still in the country. Legal help for this is free if you qualify.
Korea Legal Aid CorporationGovernment-funded legal aid, including free consultation and representation for people who meet the income criteria.klac.or.krFree consultation covers wage claims and deposit disputes. Ask whether interpretation is available at your nearest branch.
Sending your things home
Shipping by sea is a fraction of the air rate and takes weeks, which only matters if you plan far enough ahead to use it.
Korea PostThe national postal service, including international parcel and EMS rates and customs guidance.koreapost.go.krCompare the sea, air and EMS rates here first. Private movers quote against these numbers.
Whether you can claim a pension refund depends on your nationality and your visa — some countries have a treaty that changes the answer completely. Ask the office, not a forum.
