Most 'best resources' lists are affiliate pages. This one separates what the government pays for from what you pay for, and links to each source directly so you can judge it yourself.
The free classes most people never hear about
The government funds Korean classes both in Korea and abroad, taught by trained instructors, usually free or close to it. Places go by quota and application rounds, which is the only real catch.
King Sejong Institute FoundationThe government body that runs free and low-cost Korean language centres in Korea and in around 80 countries.ksif.or.krCheck whether there is a centre in your city before paying for anything. Note the address: the old sejonghakdang.org domain is no longer theirs and now hosts a gambling site.
National Institute of Korean LanguageThe state body that decides what standard Korean is — spelling rules, romanisation, and the official learner materials.korean.go.krWhen two textbooks disagree about a rule, this is the one that settles it. Their learner materials are free to download.
Paid courses, compared honestly
These are the long-running ones learners actually stay with. They are commercial, so read their own pages rather than a blog that earns a commission on your signup — including this post, which earns nothing and copies nothing.
